ABVP Fellowship Complements Our ER Immerse Program

October 3, 2022

The American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) recently created a fellowship in emergency practice. The fellowship complements our new ER Immerse mentorship program, providing veterinarians with a career path in emergency medicine.

A fellowship provides advanced study with a narrow focus on a veterinary specialty, in this case, emergency practice. The fellowship is available to board-certified diplomates in ABVP canine and feline or feline-only practice.

The emergency practice fellowship will elevate the status of emergency veterinarians, positively impact the retention of experienced emergency doctors and allow for more collaboration with other specialists, according to the ABVP.

With the recent launch of NVA Compassion-First’s ER Immerse program, including the ER ABVP track, our emergency veterinarians will have even more opportunities to reach their highest professional goals without needing an internship or residency. After successful completion of the ER ABVP track, candidates will be eligible to start their fellowship process.
